This Refund and Returns Policy applies to purchases made from Ye Olde Sausage Shop through our website.

Because we sell fresh and perishable food products, special conditions apply to refunds and returns.


1. Perishable Goods

Most products sold by Ye Olde Sausage Shop are fresh, chilled, or frozen food items.

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, the usual 14-day cancellation period does not apply to perishable goods that are liable to deteriorate or expire quickly.

For this reason:

  • We cannot accept returns of perishable food products once they have been delivered.

  • We cannot resell returned food products for hygiene and food safety reasons.

However, if there is a problem with your order, we will always work to resolve it fairly.


2. Damaged, Incorrect, or Faulty Orders

If your order arrives:

  • Damaged

  • Incorrect

  • Missing items

  • Not in a safe condition

  • Spoiled or unfit for consumption

please contact us within 24 hours of delivery.

You may be asked to provide:

  • Your order number

  • A description of the issue

  • Photographs of the product and packaging

Once reviewed, we may offer one of the following:

  • A replacement product

  • A partial refund

  • A full refund

Refunds will be issued to the original payment method.


3. Delivery Issues

If your order is delayed or affected during delivery:

  • Contact us as soon as possible.

  • We will investigate with the courier.

If perishable items arrive unsafe to consume due to delivery problems, we may offer a replacement or refund.


4. Non-Perishable Items

If we sell any non-perishable items (such as sauces, condiments, or packaged goods), these may be returned if:

  • The item is unused

  • The item is unopened

  • The return is requested within 14 days of delivery

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is faulty or incorrect.


5. Cancellations

Orders may be cancelled before they are dispatched.

Once an order containing perishable products has been prepared or dispatched, it cannot be cancelled.

To request a cancellation, contact us immediately after placing your order.


6. Refund Processing

If a refund is approved:

  • Refunds will be issued to the original payment method

  • Please allow 5–10 working days for the refund to appear in your account depending on your payment provider.


7. Food Safety

For safety and hygiene reasons:

  • We cannot accept returns of fresh meat or perishable products

  • Returned food products cannot be re-entered into our supply chain.

This policy protects the safety of our customers.
